About Wouldja Software

Wouldja Software is a partnership of two experienced professional software developers, Lee Fyock and Chris Eplett. Although both attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for their undergraduate degrees, they didn't meet until Chris joined the Macintosh team at The MathWorks in 1995.

Lee and Chris developed large parts of the user interface for MATLAB for Macintosh before transitioning to the Java version of the MATLAB front end, where they wrote an even greater portion of the user interface.

When a friend started peanutpress.com, which later became Palm Digital Media and then eReader.com through a series of acquisitions, Lee left The MathWorks to write the Palm OS version of Peanut Reader. Chris later joined in order to write the Mac version of the ebook reader software. The years that followed saw eReader.com become a profitable multi-million dollar company, the most successful ebook company of that era.

Lee went on to manage development of several email application projects at Palm, while Chris tackled a new area of software: web development.

In 2006, several members of the peanutpress.com team reassembled to jump-start a new music-discovery startup called OurStage. Ruby on Rails was new to both Chris and Lee, but their wide experience enabled them to get the site launched earlier than predicted.

The urge to work on projects of their own induced them to found Wouldja Software in early 2005, introducing an inexpensive but powerful drawing application, WouldjaDraw. When iPhone was introduced, Fictionwise (who had purchased eReader) asked Chris and Lee to write the iPhone OS version of the eReader software, since Wouldja had extensive knowledge of the ebook format and software, as well as the experience writing to the Mac APIs upon which the iPhone OS is based.

The Wouldja team produced the popular eReader application for iPhone, followed by the Barnes & Noble eReader. Both applications have topped the Books free application category, with millions of downloads to date.

With several other contracts under their belt, as well as their own iPhone OS game, RoboNuts, Wouldja has a solid track record of commercial software development.
